
The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) is proud to announce its participation at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026, one of the continent’s premier tourism trade exhibitions, scheduled to take place from 11 to 14 May 2026 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.
Africa’s Travel Indaba remains a strategic platform for connecting African tourism products with international buyers, destination marketers, media, investors and tourism stakeholders from across the globe. The event continues to position Africa as a competitive and diverse tourism destination while creating meaningful market access opportunities for tourism businesses.
As part of its 2026 partnership strategy, Limpopo Tourism Agency will once again host the Limpopo Pavilion, bringing together municipalities, tourism products, SMME’s and destinations partners under one integrated provincial showcase. The pavilion will reflect Limpopo’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, eco-tourism experiences and sustainable tourism ambitions.
Through this strategic platform, Limpopo Province will position itself as a leading heritage, culture and eco-tourism destination in Southern Africa whilst strengthening market access opportunities for tourism products, municipalities and emerging tourism enterprises.
The province’s participation will place strong emphasis on sustainable tourism development, destination greening and ecotourism experiences, highlighting globally recognised tourism icons such as Kruger National Park and Mapungubwe National Park as key tourism anchors.
This year’s exhibition approach will focus on four strategic tourism clusters, namely:
- Family and Recreation
- Sport and Wildlife
- Safari and Hunting
- Heritage and Culture
The provincial pavilion will further showcase authentic Limpopo experiences through cultural storytelling, destination branding, tourism activations and networking engagements aimed at driving investment, partnerships and tourism growth.
Through this participation, LTA seeks to:
- Position Limpopo Province as a leading tourism destination in Southern Africa
- Strengthen the province’s heritage and cultural tourism offering
- Facilitate market access opportunities for emerging tourism SMMEs and established tourism products
- Promote packaged tourism experiences across all districts of Limpopo and
- Strengthen collaboration with municipalities, tourism operators, media and strategic tourism partners
The Limpopo Pavilion will include participation from:
- Thulamela Local Municipality
- Vhembe District Municipality
- Capricorn District Municipality
- Sekhukhune District Municipality
- Polokwane Local Municipality
- Waterberg District Municipality
- Limpopo Tourism Agency
In line with government’s inclusive tourism growth agenda, the platform will further provide exhibition and networking opportunities for 20 tourism SMMEs from across the province.
As part of the destination marketing programme during Indaba, LTA will host Limpopo Night 2026. Limpopo Night is a strategic destination activation and stakeholder engagement platform aimed at showcasing the province’s tourism identity through culture, storytelling and immersive destination experiences.
The activation seeks to:
- Position Limpopo as a premier heritage and culture destination
- Promote the province’s ecotourism and sustainability narrative
- Strengthen relationships with international buyers, media and tourism stakeholders
- Create networking opportunities for tourism operators and investors
- Showcase authentic Limpopo cultural experiences and tourism offerings
The evening will feature cultural performances, indigenous music and dance, destination presentations and curated networking engagements designed to strengthen Limpopo’s tourism visibility and tourism trade relations.
The participation further aligns with the province’s broader tourism growth strategy focused on destination competitiveness, stakeholder collaboration, tourism investment promotion and inclusive economic participation.
